Atkinson
Atkinson Vehicles Limited was founded in 1907, specialized in the repair of vehicles and began to build steam- powered vehicles in 1914. Atkinson did a lot of conversion work; upgrading solid tyred vehicles to pneumatic and petrol engines to diesel through the Twenties and building its own first diesel truck in 1933 using a Gardner engine. In the postwar years the company manufactured a range of trucks using Rolls Royce, Cummins and Gardner engines.
