Diamond Reo
Diamond Reo Trucks was formed in 1967 after the amalgamation of the two companies - Diamond T and Reo Motors Incorporated who were at the time both constituent parts of the White Motor Corporation. White had acquired Diamond T in 1958 for $10 million. In 1970 they produced the CO- 7864D, the tractor for a typical eighteen-wheeler of its day. The tractor unit was powered by a 212-bhp Cummins NH220 six-cylinder diesel which drove through a Spicer five speed gearbox to a tandem-drive rear bogie which had dual tyres on each axle end. It was a cabover design with a semi trailer coupling over the rear bogie.
